Summary
Three Pakistan Electric Power Company (Pepco) teams working at the Mangla Dam have not yet completed the survey of the area, which, according to Managing-Director Tahir Basharat Cheema, is a 15-day job in normal circumstances. Two of three teams were moved from Dehrki (Sindh) and Gakkhar (Punjab) and third one was already in the area, says Cheema. If the predictions by Flood Monitoring Centre about rising water flow in the Indus turn out to be true, power generation from Tarbela should be rising at the rate of 150MW a day. In next six days, generation from Tarbela should neutralise Mangla loss, adds Cheema.
