ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Minister for Kashmir Affairs Amir Muqam has called upon the United Nations to implement its resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir dispute while urging India to stop blatant violations of international laws in the valley.

He was addressing a news conference alongside Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders in Islamabad on Saturday.

The minister said that Indian forces forcibly took control of Jammu and Kashmir on 27th October 1947 without any legal justification.

He said that the UN Security Council passed several resolutions in favour of the oppressed people of Jammu and Kashmir.

“Pakistan has always been a staunch advocate of right to self-determination for Kashmiris living in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.

Amir Muqam said that the entire Pakistani nation would stand with their Kashmiri brothers to mark Kashmir Black Day tomorrow.

He said that a rally would be held tomorrow in Islamabad to express solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The parliamentary secretary for Kashmir Affairs Anwarul Haq Chaudhary and other Kashmiri leaders were also present on the occasion.
