Marriyum Aurangzeb advises citizens to avoid plastic bags use

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab senior provincial minister Marriyum Aurangzeb has advised the public to not use plastic bags as plastic use was injurious to health.
The Minister revealed that the Department of Environmental Protection’s squads carried out the operation against plastic bags making, usage and sale.
Around 56 food points were inspected and action was taken against 10 by sealing eight food houses and shops for using plastic bags with less than 75 micron volume.
She disclosed that 15kg hazardous plastic bags were seized and two persons were arrested filing cases against them.
She highlighted that plastic bags were the cause of cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb urged citizens to opt out the purchase of food in plastic bags as it was harmful for health stressing that it’s similar to buying diseases.
Minister directed plastic bags manufacturers to halt its manufacturing otherwise they would have to face the music on violations.
