At least 18 more militants killed in operation Rahe-e-Raast during last 24 hours. ISPR told that 16 personnel including officers and soldiers were martyred in North Waziristan. Federal minister for information and broadcast Qamar Zaman Kaira said that operation would end in few days and gradual return of IDPs would start in a week.Security forces have completely cleared Shamozai area whereas operation is in progress in last hideout Shah Dheri, Director General ISPR Major General Athar Abbas briefed the media in Islamabad. He further said that security forces have taken full control of the area between Swat and Buner. All training and supply camps of the militants have been destroyed. Local Lashkar is fighting militants in Dir and community policing have also been started, he added. DG ISPR said that the operation is not against any particular area or tribe, it is to eliminate militants. Federal minister for information and broadcast Qamar Zaman Kaira present on the occasion said that 109 thousand cards have been made for IDPs that were used to withdraw Rs 500 million by 50000 people. He said that terrorists are a threat not only for the countrys leadership but for the whole nation as well. Situation on eastern fronts is still critical, he added. The federal minister said 150 thousand soldiers are participating in the operation.
