'OBL Commission calls Zardari, probe report soon'

Justice (r) Javed Iqbal says Asif Zardari has been summoned to appear before Abbottabad Commission.

Addressing a news conference, the Abbottabad Commission Chief said that Asif Ali Zardari has immunity as President, but he has been summoned as co-chairman of the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party. He said under the Inquiry Act, anyone can be called for questioning. He however would not say when the President was summoned -- before his ailment or after.He said the investigation into the US raid that killed Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden (OBL) is expected to be completed by end-December. He said no unnecessary delay has been made in the commission’s report, which would be comprehensive. He said the report would point out which institution committed what mistake. He said the commission will be submitting the report to the government, and it’s the government’s authority to declassify it.Asked if the man killed in the rain was really Osama bin Laden, Justice (r) Javed Iqbal said such details could not be shared at this point in time. He further said if this is revealed, what else would be left to tell in the report. He said the Osama’s wives and children have been interviewed and there was no need to question them further.
