DG MO Maj-Gen Ashfaq Nadeem has said that Natos attack on Pakistani check posts was deliberate.
Talking to the media in Rawalpindi, Maj-Gen Ashfaq Nadeem said that Pakistan isn’t interested in joint investigations because the joint probe of the previous three such incidents brought about no positive results. He said that responsibility wasn’t fixed and no one was punished.The DG MO said that attacks on the Pakistani checkposts were blatant violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty. He however said that the motives of the attacks couldn’t be determined right away.He said that Pakistani forces got in touch with the Nato forces right after the attack. He said that two to three Nato copters attacked a Pakistani checkpost at around 12:30 at night. The attack disconnected the post’s communication outside. He said a nearby post meanwhile opened fire on the copters with anti-aircraft guns. The copters then attacked the nearby post, the Maj-Gen added.The DG MO said that attacks ripped apart all the understandings of cooperation on the border. He said that Pakistan is considering ways and means to repulse such attacks in the future. He said that a letter has been written to the foreign Office to withdraw the Shamsi Airbase facility.Chief of General Staff Lt-Gen Waheed Arshad was also present in the news conference.
