Azm-e-Istehkam is inevitable to get rid of the menace of terrorism, says former prime minister
LAHORE (Dunya News) - PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Saturday announced that his party would participate in the All Parties’ Conference (APC) convened by the prime minister on Operation Azm-e-Istehkam.
The former prime minister said in a statement that Operation Azm-e-Istehkam is inevitable to get rid of the menace of terrorism.
“Pakistan and Afghanistan need to further expand the bilateral ties in order to ensure peace in the region,” said the veteran politician.
Meanwhile, provincial minister for industries Ch Shafay Hussain said that terrorism is an international issue and the war against this monster can only be won by our joint efforts.
“PML-Q will fully support the efforts to bring peace in the country,” he said.
A day earlier, top military brass expressed concern over the unwarranted criticism of the Operation Azm-e-Istehkam by some quarters.

According to the military's media wing, the top military brass took up the matter during the 265th Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) presided over by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Asim Munir at GHQ on Friday.
The forum paid tribute to the sacrifices of martyrs of the armed forces, law-enforcement agencies and the citizens who have laid down their lives for peace and stability in the country.
Last month, a federal cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif gave approval to Operation Azm-e-Istehkam and other related decisions taken at the Apex Committee formed under the revived National Action Plan (NAP).
