ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Sunday said that the general elections would be held in 2029 upon completion of the constitutional tenure of the incumbent government.
While reacting to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman’s presser, he said the parliament was an appropriate forum to do politics in the current circumstances.
“Solution to all the problems in politics lies in negotiations and dialogue,” the minister said.
Tarar termed Fazl a seasoned and reputed politician while urging him to appreciate the government’s economic policies.

He lauded the government for strengthening the rupee and reducing trade deficit significantly.
Earlier in the day, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has reiterated his call for a reelection without any interference of the establishment.
He, while addressing a press conference, said only through a free and fair election will the country be able to tread the right path.
