Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Sunday said the people of Pakistan, their democratic government and armed forces stand united to defending country’s independence and sovereignty and will not hesitate rendering any sacrifice for this great task.Talking to media the Prime Minister said the resolution of the All Parties Conference (APC) was a clear cut message to the world that the nation was united to safeguard Pakistan’s national security and integrity. “Political differences can be put aside without slightest hesitation in case national sovereignty is threatened,” Gilani said. He said the Speaker National Assembly has already constituted a representative committee of the House, mandated to monitor the implementation of the resolution.The Prime Minster said that the resolution stipulated that peace should be given a chance and negotiations should be held with militants for persuading them to join the peace process by renouncing violence.The Prime Minister said that nation stands together and the credit goes to the democratic government for taking ownership of the war on terror by taking the people of the country along. The people of Pakistan were determined to defeat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, he added.Prime Minister Gilani said: “No one should doubt our intentions against terrorism because the Pakistani nation and its economy had suffered the most and were still facing the major brunt of terrorism as a frontline state.”“How can we collaborate with those who are against our country,” the PM questioned.The Prime Minister said the government had already embarked upon “Karvan -e-Tameer” and he would visit each constituency from Khyber to Karachi to inaugurate the unprecedented number of development projects completed by this democratic government with a huge amount of 1.5 trillion rupees.
