JUI to follow truth instead of occupying ministries: Fazlur Rehman
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that they have not learnt to surrender and announced to follow the path of truth instead of occupying ministries.
The JUI Chief while addressing the participants of the Majlis-e-Shura meeting said that the JUI was defeated. The first constitution, he asserted, was made in 1973 in which there are many services of the elders.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that since 1973, not a single piece of legislation has been passed in accordance with the Islamic spirit. They always thought of the development of the country. JUI would neither support nationalism nor sectarianism.
The head of JUI said that there is no prejudice against anyone in our attitudes, when they issued fatwas of blasphemy on each other, Jamiat condemned this move as wrong.
He added that on a daily basis, they were told that their lives were in danger, and they wanted to act according to the constitution and law.
