LAHORE (Dunya News) – A petition has been filed in the Lahore registry of Supreme Court for a judicial inquiry into the alleged rigging in the general election held on February 8.
A commoner, Shabbir Ismail, filed the petition through Advocate Azhar Siddique on Tuesday making the Election Commission, the federal government and others party to the dispute.
It may be noted that candidates of various political parties have doubts on the results of general elections.
Moreover, admission of former Rawalpindi commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatta lent credence to the rigging allegations. He confessed on Saturday to the rigging and surrendered to the police.
