ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has withheld results in three constituencies – one national and two provincial – due to incidents of snatching of polling material at various polling stations during the general elections held on Feb 8.

The top electoral body said re-polling will be held at certain polling stations of NA-88 Khushab, PS-18 Ghotki and PK-90 Kohat on February 15 (Monday).

It said material of 26 polling stations was set on fire by an enraged crowd at the office of the returning officer in NA-88 Khushab.
In PS-18 Ghotki, unknown men snatched material of two polling stations, disrupting the voting process.

In PK-90 Kohat, assailants destroyed the material of 15 polling stations, depriving people of their right to vote.

ECP said that re-polling will be held at these polling stations on Feb 15.

Meanwhile, the returning officer of NA-242 has sent a report on vandalism at a polling station to the Commission.

The report states the incident occurred after the completion of the vote count process, adding that nothing is missing from the material.
