LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday sought reply from federal and provincial governments on a plea seeking permission for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf candidates to run their election campaign.

The LHC conducted hearing of the petition against obstacles being placed to run the election drive. Justice Shehram Sarwar Chaudhry heard the petition filed by Zaman Khan advocate.

The petitioner took the stance that PTI candidates were being harassed and hindrances were being placed on their way to run their campaigns.

The petitioner prayed to the court that PTI aspirants should be allowed to run their election drive and police should be directed not to harass them.

The public prosecutors sought time from the court to submit the reply. The LHC, accepting request of the prosecutors, ordered federal and provincial governments to furnish their replies on next date of hearing. The hearing of the case was adjourned till February 6.
