SHO Margalla and five police officers suspended for raiding Barrister Gohar's house

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The SHO of Margalla police station and five officials have been suspended for raiding Barrister Gohar Ali Khan's house here on Saturday.

Unidentified masked men barged into the residence of Gohar and assaulted his son and nephew, while the barrister was attending the Supreme Court hearing on PTI's electoral symbol "bat" and intra-party elections.

According to the spokesperson for the police, an inquiry had been carried out against raid on Gohar's house yesterday. The police reached a house in search of wanted criminals on a tip-off only to discover that it belonged to Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, he added.

Barrister Gohar had complained to the Chief Justice of Pakistan about the raid who summoned the police officer and issued an order to investigate the matter.

Inspector General Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan appointed City DPO as an inquiry officer and ordered him to submit a detailed report within three days.

He assured Barrister Gohar of legal action if any police official was found guilty.
