PTI leader Asad Qaiser arrested in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former speaker of National Assembly Asad Qaiser was arrested by anti-corruption team of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Islamabad on Friday.
The PTI leader was shifted to Bani Gala police station for further interrogation. He was arrested for his alleged involvement in corruption scandal of Gajju Khan Medical College, Swabi.
Qaiser's arrest comes as another setback for the party, which is already embroiled in legal battles as its top leadership remains behind bars in different cases.
Earlier, Asad Qaiser and Ali Muhammad Khan held a meeting with JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman last week.
The PTI leaders met the JUI-F chief and condoled with him on the sad demise of his mother-in-law. They offered prayer for the departed soul.
The PTI leadership also discussed the current political situation in the country with the JUI-F chief.
