MUZAFFARABAD (Web Desk) – The Founding Day of Azad Jammu and Kashmir is being celebrated throughout the valley and Pakistan today (Tuesday) with a renewed pledge to continue struggle for freedom of Indian-occupied Kashmir till it reaches a logical end.
Special ceremonies will be held in this connection under the auspices of various social, political and other organisations.
On October 24, 1947, a part the state of Jammu and Kashmir was liberated by the valiant sons of the soil who waged a holy war against the Dogra rulers.
Today's main event will be held at the parade ground in Muzaffarabad. Speakers will highlight the historic significance of the Founding Day of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Fateha will be offered for the Kashmiri martyrs besides offering special prayers for early success of Jammu and Kashmir freedom movement as well as progress and prosperity of the state of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
AJK PM HAQ’S MESSAGE
Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq has congratulated the entire nation on the eve of 76th Foundation Day.
The premier, in his message, said this day is the fruit of the sacrifices of the great martyrs who sacrificed their lives to liberate this territory.
He assured the oppressed sisters, brothers, daughters and elders of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir that the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir will not leave them alone and would continue the Kashmir freedom movement till taking it to its logical conclusion.
Prime Minister Haq also saluted his Kashmiri brothers struggling for their birthright to self-determination. He said, “When our forefathers liberated this region, they were in a state of severe insecurity at that time. At that time, Kashmiris set an eternal example of sacrifices. These sacrifices require us to stand steadfastly with our Kashmiri brothers.”
He deplored that the Indian forces had started a new series of atrocities in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the valley had been turned into the world’s largest prison.
The AJK prime minister said the need of the hour is that the United Nations should implement its resolutions and play its role to give the Kashmiris their legitimate right to self-determination.
Prime Minister Haq said the day is not far when the people of occupied Kashmir will get rid of the Indian rule and join Pakistan and ‘we will fulfill the commitment of our ancestors to join Pakistan.’
