ECP wants transfers under law for transparent elections
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday directed the Balochistan chief secretary to transfer some officers.
The Election Commission sent a letter to the chief secretary, emphasising that conducting elections per the Constitution is the Election Commission's constitutional duty, and ensuring transparent elections is also its responsibility.
During a meeting with the chief secretary, the matter of officers' transfer was discussed, and those who were not reshuffled should be replaced promptly.
The Election Commission insisted that these transfer orders must be executed in compliance with the law, and a report on their implementation should be submitted to the ECP within three days.
