PMDC executive killed in IED blast near Quetta

(Web Desk) – The project manager of the Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC) was killed in an IED blast in Quetta on Sunday, a private media outlet has reported citing police officials.

According to details, the PMDC official identified as Shabat Mirza was heading towards the Sor Range, located in a mountainous region, in his car when the blast occurred.

Mirza died instantly, while his driver named Muhammad Zakir sustained critical injuries and was rushed to the Quetta Civil Hospital for treatment.

Initial investigation revealed that an improvised explosive device had been planted by the roadside.

Following the explosion, the site was cordoned off.

An investigation by the Counter-Terrorism Department is in progress.
