Chaudhry Salik Hussain and Chaudhry Shafay Hussain were also present
LAHORE (Web Desk) - Pakistan Peoples Party President Asif Ali Zardari paid a visit to the residence of PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Thursday night.
The primary objective of this visit was to engage the PML-Q chief in discussions over the prevailing political scenario in the backdrop of announcement of general elections at January-end.
During his meeting with Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain at his residence, Zardari also inquired about the latter’s health. Chaudhry Salik Hussain and Chaudhry Shafay Hussain were also present.
The meeting between two leaders lasted for 40 minutes during which both sides discussed current political landscape and the prospects of forming alliance in the forthcoming elections.
In light of the Supreme Court's judgement last Friday annulling the amendments to NAB laws, the accountability watchdog has chosen to reopen the cases against at least 80 persons, including former president Asif Ali Zardari and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
In this respect, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) authorities reportedly approached the Islamabad accountability court through a letter on Wednesday, seeking to reopen the cases against 80 individuals. The NAB will present the relevant record to the accountability court within a day or two.
