Terrorist commander killed in Swat IBO
SWAT (Dunya News) - The security forces on Sunday killed the former Tehreek-e-Taliban Swat group commander in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Swat.
On Sept 7, Pakistan Army and the Counter Terrorism Department successfully carried out an IBO in the Fizagat area of Swat.
During the operation, Naik Muhammad alias Niko alias Umar, a former Tehreek-e-Taliban Swat commander, killed.
The terrorist commander was Mullah Fazlullah's former right-hand man and was incharge of the group's whipping squad during the early years of militancy in Swat.
During the height of militancy, Naik Muhammad participated in a large number of terrorist attacks against security personnel in Swat. Following "Operation Rah-e-Rast" in Swat, Naik Muhammad and his family fled to Afghanistan.
He began targeting police officers earlier this year after sneaking back into Swat with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) formation. In addition to this, the terrorist leader began to receive extortionate payments from the TTP.
