More torrential rains expected in next 24-hours, says met office

 LAHORE (Dunya News) - According to the met office’s report, more thunderstorms are expected along the stretches of the country during the next 24 hour. Rains with lightning are expected in Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeastern Balochistan, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Lower regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeastern Balochistan, northeastern and southern Punjab along with southern Punjab, and the Pothohar region is ecpected to face downpour accompanied by thunder and lightning. Whereas, other parts of the country are anticipated to experience hot and humid weather.

As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s report, in the last 24 hours, rain with lightning occurred in Islamabad, Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, and upper Sindh, while some areas experienced even severe rainfall.

It had started raining in Gujranwala after midnight, turning the weather pleasant after the humidity level increased, but the heaviest rain was again experienced in Lahore where it started pouring down around 8am in different parts of the city.

The chief amounts of rain recorded in different parts of Lahore is given as: Gulshan-e-Ravi 155mm, Paniwala Talab 146mm, Qartaba Chowk 109, Nishtar Town 104, Lakshmi Chowk 101mm, Johar Town 96mm and Tajpura 80mm.
