CJP accepts government's plea to withdraw reference
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed the curative reference against SC puisne judge Justice Qazi Faez Isa.
Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial dismissed the pleas after they were withdrawn.
The apex court announced the detailed verdict on the review petition filed by Justice Isa. Court dismissed the plea with 6-4. The verdict also annulled the instructions issued by the FBR and the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC).
The verdict stated that the government filed a review petition against the judgement on review petition. SC Registrar said, as per SC rules, another review petition could not be filed.
The petitioner filed an appeal in chamber against the objections raised by SC Registrar. On March 31, President Arif Alvi requested to withdraw the curative review petition and the cabinet approved the withdrawal of the reference.
Earlier, a curative review reference had been filed by the PTI against Justice Isa. However, the present government did not choose to follow the case.
