One dead, seven properties damaged in flash floods in Dir, Chitral

PESHAWAR (APP) - One person was killed and seven residential properties were damaged in recent flash floods in Upper Dir and Upper Chitral areas, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said on Friday.
According to the official data, 25-year Sabz Ali, son of Shamat Khan, resident of Aligasar, Upper Dir was swept away in a flash flood and his body was recovered.
Similarly, the flash flood caused havoc at Yarkhon village of Upper Chitral where five houses were demolished and two houses were partially damaged, however, no casualty was reported.
The floods also affected 10 shops and damaged the crops, gardens and forests.
The Chantar Glacier at Brughal Point had slipped dangerously into the Yarkhon River in Chitral and could further cause downstream floods, the PDMA warned.
