Hafiz Naeem raps PPP for 'standing against democracy'
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leader Hafiz Naeemur Rehman chided on Monday the Pakistan Peoples Party, claiming the party was standing against the democracy.
Speaking to media, Naeemur Rehman said: "The corruption is pretty much prevailing in every institution in the city. The PPP is a power-hunger party".
"My microphone was turned off and I was not permitted to speak during the Karachi City Council meeting. The PPP had approved the budget by the administrator on June 14. However, we believed that the budget should be presented to the council," he maintained.
He made it clear that he was having no "tussle" with Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab personally.
