Rain, thunderstorm forecast in most parts of country

The PMD forecast rain in Kashmir, northeast and south Punjab, Balochistan and Sindh within 12 hours

(Web Desk) - Rain with wind and thunderstorm is expected in Kashmir, Pothohar region, northeast and south Punjab, northeast Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the next 12 hours.

Heavy fall are also likely at isolated places during the period. Hot and humid weather is likely elsewhere in the country.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has also forecast heavy rains for parts of Sindh province and Karachi over the weekend.

According to the synoptic situation, monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea are continuously penetrating upper and central parts of the country and likely to continue in coming days.

A few heavy falls are expected in Sukkur, Jacobabad, Nagarparkar, Tharparkar, Umerkot, Sanghar and Mirpur Khas from July 14 to July 16.

On Thursday, Federal Minister for Climate Change Senator Sherry Rehman warned in a tweet that “there is a possibility of inundation of low-lying areas due to heavy rains in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Gujranwala and Lahore from July 13 to 17.”

Meanwhile, the Met Office recorded 26 Celsius in Islamabad, 29 in Lahore, 30 Karachi and Peshawar thirty, 24 in Quetta, 17 in Gilgit and Murree and 25 in Muzaffarabad in past 24 hours.

According to weather forecast of Met Office for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, partly cloudy weather with chances of rain wind thundershower is expected in Jammu, Shopian and Baramula and cloudy weather with chances of rain wind thundershower in Pulwama and Anantnag while partly cloudy weather in Srinagar and Leh.
