ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Gandhara Task Force Chairman Dr Ramesh Kumar on Monday said he wanted to promote tourism in Pakistan as he was happy to host delegation from 31 countries at the Gandhara centre.

Addressing the presser, he said it was his wish to have tourists visit Pakistan and study history, adding that the Gautam Budh’s history started from Pakistan. “It’s my target to promote tourism in Pakistan,” he added.

He went on to say that he wanted to make Pakistan a tourism-friendly country, adding that Vietnam earned $30 billion from tourism. “I invited the Vietnamese delegation to fly to Pakistan through a chartered flight,” he added.

“Pakistan has an immense potential for religious tourism”, he said.

He continued by saying that the promotion of tourism would help flourish business and decrease terrorism, adding that it would help prosper the country. “All stakeholders including security agencies should play their roles in it,” he added.

Kumar said Pakistan was thriving because of the sacrifices paid by the armed forces, adding that tourism could play a decisive role in Pakistan’s economy. “Religious tourism can play an important role in increasing the country’s GDP,” he added.
