First case of Naegleria reported in Lahore
LAHORE (Web Desk) – The first case of Naegleria had been reported in Lahore, a private laboratory confirmed.
A 30-year-old patient was admitted to the Services Hospital.
Services Hospital MS Dr Ehtisham Haque said that the patient had various symptoms including headache, fever for the last four days.
“History is being determined about Naegleria, a disease of the central nervous system, case. A team of doctors is assigned the case of Naegleria for father investigation,” he added.
A board would be formed to treat the patient, Dr Haque said.
Earlier, a number of Naegleria cases were reported in Karachi and the experts warned, urging the public to refrain from swimming in pools that had not been properly chlorinated.
