Says PPP chairman talked to him in a pleasant mood

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Clearing the air over a video which went viral on social media regarding his alleged snubbing by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, senior party leader Nabeel Gabol said on Wednesday he had a very cordial meeting with the PPP chief and nothing wrong happened.

Giving details of the incident, the PPP leader said, "I met Chairman Bilawal at the swearing-in ceremony of Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab and he spoke to me in a very pleasant mood. I told him about the 16-hour power loadshedding in Lyari and requested him to take personal interest in it."

He further said that in response, the PPP chairman assured him of his cooperation. He said he felt pain of the people of Lyari.

“If someone has posted the full video on social media, it can be seen that Bilawal Bhutto told the chief minister to call the CEO of K-Electric,” Gabol said. “Bilawal said I would like to have a meeting with the CEO of K-Electric after coming back from Islamabad,” Gabol said.

In a video statement, Gabol said Bilawal had to stand up when the deputy mayor came to meet him. “I requested the PPP chairman to also call the MD of Sui Gas in Lyari," he said. “After that, Bilawal said in a lighter vein that all the talks will not happen here. I'll see you later, let's talk there”.

He said it was not a big issue but misperception was propagated on social media.“If I speak for the people of Lyari and people think that I have been disrespected, I accept this disrespect,” he said.
