SC disallows delaying NAB chief appointment

Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected government's call to extend deadline for NAB chief appointment.

The government had pleaded that the appointment be allowed delay until the review plea in Deedar Hussain Shah case is settled.The SC had ordered immediate appointment of NAB chairman early this year and had even given a deadline of one month, which ended in August.Two-member bench comprising Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk and Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali read out the verdict rejecting the governments plea.
