Justice Isa to continue chamber work next week as well

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court puisne Judge Qazi Faez Isa was not included in any bench proceedings for the past six weeks.

This week, seven different Supreme Court benches have been formed, but Justice Isa's absence from these benches has drawn attention.

The Supreme Court has recently released the judges' roster for the upcoming judicial week starting from May 22.

According to the roster, seven benches will hear cases in the Supreme Court next week, while the senior-most judge, Justice Qazi Faez Isa, will again be engaged in chamber work.

Bench number one will be composed of Justice Athar Minallah, with Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial heading the bench.

Bench number two will consist of Justice Tariq Masood, Justice Aminuddin Khan, and Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar.

The third bench will comprise Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan and Justice Shahid Waheed.

Further according to the Supreme Court's roster for the following week, bench number four will include Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi.

Bench number five will consist of Justice Muneeb Akhtar and Justice Jamal Mandokhail.

Bench number six will be presided over by Justice Yahya Afridi and Justice Mazahir Naqvi, while the seventh bench will be formed by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Athar Minallah.

Interestingly, Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice Aminuddin Khan will join Bench number two after 11:30 a.m., as specified in the roster.

Justice Qazi Faez Isa, the senior-most judge of the Supreme Court, has not been made part of any bench proceedings for six consecutive weeks, and this absence continues into the upcoming week as well.
