PTI on song after SC landmark verdict on Punjab elections
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday started their celebrations from Liberty Chowk Lahore after the Supreme Court of Pakistan announced the election date in Punjab election case.
Large swathes of PTI supporters flocked the Liberty Chowk to celebrate their "victory". Elections are scheduled to be held in Punjab on May 14.
PTI chief Imran Khan said, "“Today we are celebrating the Supreme Court’s important decision. Unfortunately doctrine of necessity has completely destroyed our country in the past”.

The SC decision was warmly welcomed by PTI while government’s cabinet immediately rejected the decision claiming it to be non-actionable.

Election commission of Pakistan on Wednesday also announced to honour the decision of SC and released the Punjab election schedule declaring May 14 as poll date.
