Govt to re-launch laptop scheme for University students: Ahsan Iqbal
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal said on Wednesday the government had decided to again launch the laptop scheme for the university students with a budget of Rs10 billion.
Addressing an event in Islamabad, the minister said that under this scheme, 100,000 laptops would be provided to the students on merit to digitally empower them. He said the National Bank of Pakistan had also been asked to launch laptop leasing scheme so that every university student could have an affordable laptop.
He added that given the size of the young population, Pakistan could turn Information Technology into one of its competitive advantages.
