PTI to oppose plans of imposing technocratic govt, says Fawad
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would oppose imposition of technocratic government in the country, said former information minister Fawad Chaudhary.
The PTI stalwart issued the remarks in response to reports that plans are being hatched to form an interim government for a period of six months to two and half years instead of calling fresh elections in the country.
Taking to Twitter, he said the idea of replacing the government with technocratic setup was “foolish”, adding that political crisis was more severe than economic turmoil. He claimed that such schemes were being designed at the cost of the country’s interests just to stop PTI Chairman Imran from regaining power.
“We will oppose this kind of technocrat government,” he vowed.
PTI has been calling for early elections in the country since ouster of Imran Khan through a no-confidence vote in April last. To press its demand, the party has announced to dissolve the provincial assemblies in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
