Summary PTI carrying on politics of extremism: Hamza Shehbaz

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz on Thursday while condemning the protest staged by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters outside the Governor House said the PTI was carrying on the politics of extremism.

He said PTI chief Imran Khan had once again pushed the most populous province of Pakistan into a political crisis adding the politics of threats would be met while staying in the ambit of law.

He added it was up to Punjab governor Baligh ur Rehman to de-notify CM Pervez Elahi as the CM was avoiding the vote of confidence in the assembly.

Earlier, the PTI supporters congregated outside the Governor House ahead of former prime minister Imran Khan’s address. The PTI workers chanted slogan against Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman and also displayed the party flags to lend support to Mr Khan.

A day ago, the federal government decided to deploy FC and Rangers personnel across Punjab in a bid to maintain law and order.

Sources privy to the development said that Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah directed the chief secretary and Punjab IGP to take measures to protect the masses’ property, and to maintain law and order in the province.

While the authorities concerned strictly instructed the officials not to take part in any political activities, sources added.
