Ch Shujaat doesn’t see early elections
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) president Chaudhry Shujaat said on Monday he was not foreseeing early elections in the country.
He said meetings to resolve the political imbroglio in Punjab would continue in the next few days. He said meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and former president Asif Ali Zardari went well. Commenting on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan, he said Mr Khan was a wise man and he did not need any advice.
Earlier, Mr Zardari had asked PM Shehbaz to wait and see the whole day through. The PML-N and the PPP had asked the party MPAs to reach Lahore. Sources said CM Pervez’s visit to PM’s residence was the talk of the town. After the session at the PM residence in Lahore, Mr Shehbaz reached Mr Shujaat’s home to formulate a strategy over Imran Khan’s dissolution call.
Sources further said Chaudhry Shujaat had indicated talks with CM Elahi, which makes next two days crucial in the province’s politics. If Mr Parvez clarifies his position to the PTI, the opposition alliance could think of [holding talks with the CM].
