6 coal miners killed in Harnai's mine explosion
QUETTA (Dunya News) – At least six coal miners were killed after being trapped in a mine in Balochistan’s Harnai district due to gas explosion.
The miners were trapped in a coal mine in the Shah Rag area of the Harnai district.
Following the explosion, local administration desperately searched for signs of life for over 7 hours and pulled out bodies of six miners.
Balochistan Mines and Mineral Department officials lodged a first information report (FIR) against the responsible persons and launched investigation. In a statement issued after the incident, the officials said those responsible for the negligence would be brought to justice.
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Quddus Bizenjo and Chief Secretary Balochistan Abdul Aziz Uqaili have taken notice of the incident and ordered investigation into the tragic incident.
