PTI wins 33 District Council seats in 1st phase of AJK LG polls

PPP remained second by winning 23 District Council seats and PML-N grabbed 16 seats.

MUZAFFARABAD (Dunya News) - According to unofficial results, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf won 33 District Council seats in the first phase of the local government (LG) elections held in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Sunday, Dunya News reported.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) remained second by winning 23 District Council seats and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) grabbed 16 seats in the local government elections held in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) after a gap of three decades.

Neelum Valley

In the Neelum Valley, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf won seven seat while Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan People’s Party grabbed three seats each while two seats were won by independents.

Jhelum Valley

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf bagged 10 seats in Jhelum Valley, followed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz with five seats and Pakistan People’s Party won three seats.

Muzaffarabad

In Muzaffarabad, Pakistan People’s Party edged PTI by winning 17 seats. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf remained second with 16 seats while Muslim Conference grabbed three seats and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz got two seats. Two seats were won by independents and JKPP secured one seat.

Muzaffarabad Municipal Corporation wards

According to unofficial results of all 36 wards of Muzaffarabad Municipal Corporation, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz won 12 seats while Pakistan People’s Party remained second with 8 seats. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf grabbed seven seats while independents also secured seven seats. Muslim Conference got only two seats.
