Death toll from monsoon rains, floods in Balochistan climbs to 299

QUETTA (Dunya News) – The death toll from the recent monsoon rains and floods in different parts of Balochistan has climbed to 299 as five more persons died on Thursday, Dunya News reported.
As per Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), death toll from recent monsoon rains and floods in different parts of Balochistan has risen to 299, including 136 men, 73 women and 90 children, while 181 persons have been injured. The new death were reported from Jaffarabad, Chaman and Surab.
The PDMA reported that the heavy rains caused loss of at least 270,744 livestock. The PDMA reported that 19,083 houses were completely destroyed while 46,914 houses were partially damaged by the rains and floods in the province.
The PDMA reported that over 2,198 km length of roads and 22 bridges were damaged due to the floods while standing crops over 200,936 acres of land were also destroyed. The PDMA is conducting relief operations in the affected districts.
