Nawabshah protesters end sit-in after registration of case against 17 accused

The protesters dispersed peacefully after registration of the case and buried the dead bodies.

NAWABSHAH (Dunya News) - The participants of the Nawabshah sit-in have ended their protest after registration of case against 17 accused involved in murdering five persons over a land dispute in Nawab Wali Muhammad area of Nawabshah, Dunya News reported on Monday.

In Nawab Wali Muhammad area near Nawabshah, six people including the Station House Officer (SHO) were killed by armed men on a dispute over agricultural land. The family members and the locals of the area were protesting for the past three days by placing the dead bodies on the National Highway in Qazi Ahmed area.

According to details, police registered a case against 17 people involved in the incident after political, social and civil society protests across the province. Police have also arrested seven accused.



The protesters dispersed peacefully after registration of the case and buried the dead bodies. Hundreds of people attended the funeral prayers of the victims. The traffic on the National Highway in Qazi Ahmed area has also been restored after three days.
