ECP serves notice to Fazlur Rehman's brother over KP election violation

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday has served a notice to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s brother Zia-ur-Rehman over violation of election code of conduct during the second phase of local bodies polls in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

According to details, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja has also ordered to deport Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Ali Amin Gandapur from the district.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member of National Assembly (NA) Yaqoob Sheikh has also been directed to pay 10,000 fine.

Earlier in July 2020, Sindh government had appointed Zia-ur-Rehman as Deputy Commissioner Central Karachi.

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government had accepted the demand made by JUI-F leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman and gave Zia-ur-Rehman an important post.
