PM Imran to preside over federal cabinet meeting today

The federal cabinet will discuss a 17-point agenda during the meeting.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The federal cabinet will meet today (Tuesday) in Islamabad to discuss economic and political as well as coronavirus situation in the country. The cabinet will also be briefed on current inflation in the country as well as Murree tragedy, Dunya News reported.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will preside over the federal cabinet meeting to be held at the Prime Minister’s office. The cabinet will discuss an 18-point agenda during the meeting.

According to sources, the cabinet will give approval to the appointment of chairman and members of Intellectual Property Organization Right Board of Pakistan

The cabinet will also approve credit guarantee for trust funds under the Islamabad Capital Territory Act 2020 while approval of housing project for overseas Pakistanis under Roshan Pakistan Project in Zone Four is also part of the agenda.

The cabinet will give approval to the CDA s annual budget 2021-22. The cabinet will also grant extension in the job contract of CEO of the Engineering Development Board (EDB).

The cabinet will also approve adjustment in electricity tariff for the fourth quarter of 2020-21 while one-time exemption in duty and taxes taxes on registration of non-customs vehicles in FATA and PATA.

The approval of draft of Interfaith Harmony Policy is also part of the agenda while appointment of a member of the Minority Commission from the Christian community is also part of the agenda of the cabinet meeting.

Sources said that the Cabinet meeting will approve the Science Technology and Innovation Policy 2021 while appointment of an analyst in the anti-drug department will also be approved.

Appointment of Chairman to the Board of Directors of PTDC will be approved. The cabinet will ratify the decisions of the Institutional Reforms Committee.

The cabinet will also ratify the decision taken by cabinet committee on privatization during its meeting on December 31, 2021. The cabinet will also ratify the decisions taken by the economic coordination committee (ECC) during its previous two meetings.
