Minor boy killed, five hospitalized after eating poisonous sweet

KARACHI (Dunya News) – A minor boy was killed and condition of five other persons deteriorated after consuming poisonous sweet in Karachi on Monday night, Dunya News reported.
According to details, the tragic incident occurred in Korangi area of Karachi where a minor boy died and condition of five other persons deteriorated after eating poisonous sweet meant for culling the stray dogs.
Sources said that an employee of Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) had mixed poison in the sweet for the campaign to cull the stray dogs in the city and put it in a jacket attached to his motorcycle. The boy took the toxic sweet home and ate it with other family member afters which the boy died while condition of his mother, father, two sisters and a brother deteriorated.
Upon receiving the report of the incident, PTI leader Raja Azhar offered condolences to the bereaved family and strongly criticized the local government departments. On the other hand, SSP Korangi said that action will be taken against the KMC employee for negligence.
