Countrywide protests against load shedding

Angry people took out rallies in major cities and protested violently against the government.

A large number of people came in the streets and raised voice against the government and the WAPDA.The angry people, in Faisalabad, complained against load shedding in Sehri and Aftari timings.They blocked the Jail Road and the Sargodah Road by setting tyres on fire and threw stones on vehicles.There were long queues of passengers and other loading vehicles in the road creating suffering for passengers.Likewise, irritated people protested against prolonged load shedding for 22 hours in Pir Mahal.The protesters encircled the office of grid station and shouted slogans against officials.In the same way, annoyed people in Pindi Ghaip closed their commercial activities and took out a rally against unannounced load shedding.The protestors encircled the WAPDA office whereupon all the employees escaped after locking up the office.Similarly, angry people of Chunian also protested against unannounced load shedding for 18 hours and observed a rally against WAPDA officials. They closed their shopping centres and shouted slogans against the government.It is worth mentioning that the government had promised not to observe load shedding in Ramazan as it had announced to give Rs 17 billion for purchase of furnace oil and other expenditures essential for production of electric power.
