Work on Green Line project has been completed, buses will arrive next week: Asad Umar

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Planning, Development, Reforms and Special Initiatives Asad Umar has said that the federal government has initiated five projects in Karachi while the work on Green Line project has been completed.
He said the buses will arrive by next week. Karachi Circular Railway will be 43 kilometres long, he added.
Addressing a press conference along with Ali Zaidi, Asad Umar said that Green Line is the first ever modern transport project for the city of lights.
He said that 22 Green Line bus stations were completed. Command and Control system is also being set-up in Karachi while a comprehensive plan is also devised for BRT project in Karachi.
Asad Umar further said that a comprehensive system was being set-up for cleanliness in the city. The cleanliness operation was 100% completed in Mahmoodabad Nullah while 11lakh ton waste will be lifted from other nullahs in Karachi, he added.
He said that 60km long new roads were being built in Karachi. If the government worked effectively, the large scale of rain water can also be managed, he added.
Asad Umar further stated that Pakistan’s economic future was linked with exports. 50% of Pakistan’s exports are being carried out from Karachi, he said.
