NAB determined to take mega corruption cases to logical conclusion

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (rtd) Javed Iqbal has said that the bureau is determined to take mega corruption cases to their ‘logical conclusion’ as per law.

In a statement issued, the NAB chairman said that the anti-corruption watchdog body has devised a comprehensive anti-corruption strategy to eradicate corruption through zero tolerance policy. “The process of accountability continues without any discrimination,” he maintained.

“NAB has so far recovered Rs535 billion from the corrupt elements and deposited it in the national exchequer, which is a record achievement,” Javed Iqbal said while expressing resolve to remove corruption from the society.

Earlier, the executive board of the NAB gave approval of holding 10 fresh inquiries in a fake bank accounts scam. A meeting chaired by Chairman NAB Justice Javed Iqbal reviewed the latest developments on fake bank account cases.

The meeting was informed that the last meeting of the Executive Board of NAB approved 10 new inquiries in the fake bank account scandal.

An inquiry was approved against a public office holder legal person and others for opening fake bank accounts in Sindh Bank Roundabout Market Branch, Karachi.

Another inquiry was approved against a public office holder legal person and others for opening fake bank accounts in Sindh Bank Khayaban Shahbaz Branch, Karachi.

An Inquiry against Public Office Holder Legal Person and others for opening fake account in UBL, SMC, HS Branch Karachi was also approved, in fake bank accounts case.

NAB also approved other inquiries in fake bank account case against public office holder legal persons and others for opening fake bank accounts.
