PM Imran submits reply to ECP show-cause notice
PM Imran has sought a one-year respite from the ECP for the PTI intra-party elections.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Imran Khan has submitted a reply to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) show-cause notice in which he stated that PTI intra-party elections could not be held in time due to current situation of coronavirus pandemic across the country and the instructions of the NCOC, Dunya News reported on Tuesday.
Prime Minister Imran Khan, as head of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has has sought a one-year respite from the Election Commission of Pakistan for the PTI intra-party elections.
Prime Minister Imran Khan also requested the Election Commission of Pakistanto withdraw the show cause notice.
The ECP had issued show cause notice to PM Imran Khan for not holding intra-party elections within time. As per the Election Act, 2017, all the political parties are bound to hold intra party elections on time.
