Special focus should be given to highlight abundant investment opportunities in Pakistan during EXPO

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chairing a review meeting on preparations regarding Dubai Expo 2020, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan directed the provincial governments to finalize the preparations for Expo 2020 to be held in Dubai.

He said special focus should be given to projects like Ravi River Project, Central Business District as well as tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Northern Areas, promotion of domestic mineral resources, IT and religious tourism to attract international investment in these sectors.

He also directed the provinces including Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir to highlight all provincial projects.

The Prime Minister emphasized that during the Expo, special focus should be given to highlight the abundant investment opportunities in Pakistan.

Chairing another meeting on the progress on establishment of special technology zones in the country, Prime Minister Imran Khan directed to ensure one window operation for the convenience of the business community to protect them from any kind of inconvenience.

The Prime Minister said the government is providing every facility to the investors and business community regarding special technology zones available in any country of the world.

He said promoting technology in the country, building strong partnerships between educational institutions, the industrial sector and government agencies, and providing a conducive environment for young people to showcase their talents is among top priorities for the government.

The meeting was informed that the purpose of establishing special technology zones in the country is to ensure technology transfer, foreign investment, manpower development, research and development, job creation and increase exports in the field of technology to create import substitutes.
