FM Qureshi, Saudi counterpart discuss Afghanistan situation
The foreign minister extended prayers and best wishes to Saudi leadership.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Monday has met with his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan and discussed matters of mutual interests.
During the meeting, both the leaders also deliberated upon the Afghanistan situation.
The foreign minister extended prayers and best wishes to Saudi leadership and thanked for summoning session of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Earlier in the day, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said he will visit Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Iran and hold talks with their leadership in the context of Afghan situation.
We have already held talks with China, he added.
The minister said being a multi ethnic country, Pakistan supports the formation of a broad-based and an inclusive government in Afghanistan.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said anti-peace forces are still active in Afghanistan.
He said India will have to shun its narrow minded approach.
He said Pakistan wants peace, stability and development in Afghanistan and is engaging with those who think about the Afghan people.
