Three-member committee to probe Minar-e-Pakistan incident
The committee has been tasked to submit a comprehensive report till August 22.
LAHORE (Dunya News) - LAHORE (Dunya News) - Inspector General of Police (IGP), Punjab Inam Ghani on Wednesday constituted a three-member committee to probe the incident of harassment of a female at Minar-e-Pakistan on Independence Day, Dunya News reported.
According to sources, Additional IG Rao Sardar Ali Khan has been appointed as the head of the committee which also included DIG Yusuf Malik and AIG Athar Ismail as members.
Sources said that terms of references (ToRs) have been prepared for the committee which includes:
1. How much security was deployed at Greater Iqbal Park on Independence Day?
2. What was the reaction of the police after the incident? And
3. Why was the filing of FIR delayed after the incident?
Sources further informed that the committee has been tasked to identify the persons involved in Greater Iqbal Park incident and submit a comprehensive report till August 22
