LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Chief Justice of Pakistan has convened a meeting of the Judicial Commission to appoint Lahore High Court Justice Ayesha A Malik as a first woman Judge of the Supreme Court in 74 years.
It has been decided to make Justice Ayesha A. Malik a judge of the Supreme Court. According to sources, Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Gulzar Ahmed has convened a meeting of the Judicial Commission on September 9 in this regard.
In the meeting, recommendations will be made regarding the appointment of LHC Justice Ayesha as a judge of the Supreme Court.
Justice Ayesha A. Malik will be replacing Justice Mushir Alam, who is retiring on August 17.
